Oncology Business Unit Director

On behalf of our customer – a Pharmaceutical Company - we are looking for an Oncology Business Unit Director in Stockholm, Sweden.
As Oncology Business Unit Director, you will lead and develop a high-performing commercial sales and marketing team to deliver objectives with focus, pace, and ambition. With full responsibility for both marketing and sales, you will drive the team to achieve outstanding performance.
Aligned with the company’s bold ambitions and deep market insight, you will establish the strategic and operating priorities for the current portfolio and future launches in the business unit to optimize pipeline value, deliver health impact to more appropriate patients, and drive sustainable growth. You will deliver a bold ambition and drive excellent commercial execution across marketing and sales teams. You will provide leadership and enable effective partnerships with cross-functional teams to synergize efforts and support the General Manager in achieving growth objectives for the country.
You will influence key internal and external stakeholders, with a solid understanding of the nuances in the local healthcare and regulatory environment. You will ensure teams operate in line with ethical standards and the company’s policies, embedding disciplined compliance to local regulations. As an enterprise leader, you will role model living the company culture and enable an environment for outstanding people to thrive.
In this role you will:
- Create and execute a long-term strategy for the business unit to achieve expected growth.
- Develop and achieve forecast goals and profit targets, and effectively manage the business unit’s P&L, optimizing investment across channels (sales, marketing mix, channel strategy).
- Accelerate performance by generating country-level insights to inform local business strategies and execution; preparing and executing robust cross-functional plans, and leading the Oncology sales and marketing team.
- Prepare and execute exceptional, insights-driven and cross-functional Oncology launch plans (including market shaping, marketing mix, salesforce and channel strategy).
- Build best-in-class commercial teams with high scientific knowledge and strong omnichannel capabilities.
- Build and maintain relationships and partnerships with external stakeholders (e.g., healthcare professionals, payers, policymakers, patient groups) and effectively communicate customer value propositions.
- As a member of the country leadership team, shape and drive company and country-wide initiatives to foster strong culture and growth.
- As a member of the Risk Management and Compliance Board, ensure a healthy risk profile for external operations and play an active part in the Internal Control Framework through Management Monitoring activities.
Why you?
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject (e.g., science, pharmacy, or business)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry in both sales and marketing, and a minimum of 2 years in people leadership (sales and/or marketing).
- Deep scientific understanding and experience launching and/or optimizing growth within Oncology.
- Strong business acumen and a proven track record in driving performance in marketing and sales, operational excellence in customer communication, and successful launch experience.
- Experience in the management of brands across different therapy areas and demonstrating agility to learn new disease and product knowledge.
- Experience developing, measuring, and optimizing omnichannel campaigns.
- Full proficiency in Swedish in both written and spoken format.

- Excellent leadership and communication skills, demonstrable influencer, challenger, and supporter of senior and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Engaging and empowering leadership style that attracts, inspires, and builds strong talent within the team to deliver high performance.
- Strong interpersonal communications and negotiation skills with a wide range of audiences, with the ability to influence externally and internally.
